COMMON REASONS FOR AN EVALUATION

Is This What You’re Noticing?

Children, teens, and adults are often referred for an evaluation when their abilities and effort do not seem to match their academic performance or daily functioning. A comprehensive evaluation can help clarify what may be contributing to these concerns and identify meaningful next steps.

Attention & Organization

Difficulty maintaining attention, following directions, completing tasks, staying organized, or keeping track of responsibilities.

Reading, Writing & Math

Reading, spelling, writing, or math skills that are developing more slowly than expected or require significantly more effort.

Inconsistent Performance

Strong abilities or understanding, but uneven performance on homework, tests, timed tasks, or day-to-day work.

ADHD, Autism & Learning Differences

Concerns about ADHD, autism, dyslexia, learning disabilities, giftedness, twice-exceptionality, or executive functioning.

Social & Developmental Concerns

Challenges involving emotional regulation, sensory needs, behavior, social relationships, communication, or development.

School & Testing Accommodations

A need for updated documentation to support an IEP, 504 Plan, college accommodations, or accommodations for standardized or professional exams.

Our evaluations look beyond test scores to understand each person’s strengths, learning style, and the reasons certain tasks may be more difficult.
